At The Oval School, we use Jigsaw PSHE as the foundation to teach our personal, social and health education, interwoven with the Learning for Peace toolkit by Peacemakers.
Jigsaw is a mindful and child-centred approach to PSHE. It is an original and comprehensive scheme of learning which integrates personal, social, health and economic education with emphasis on emotional literacy, mental health and SMSC, especially spiritual development.
Jigsaw aims to help pupils know and value who they really are and how they relate to other people in this ever-changing world.
The Learning for Peace toolkit enables children to explore peace within themselves, in their relationships, their community and the wider world. It fosters essential skills such as empathy, communication, conflict resolution and cooperation.
